Restaurants in Belle Plagne

Our guide to eating out in Belle Plagne aims to provide a tasty eatery regardless of your holiday mood, dietary requirements or budget. From restaurants with a view, quick bites and the trickiest of all, eating with children, we hope this wide range of restaurants caters to everybody.

Authentic Cuisine; Best for Traditional French Alps Food

As the saying goes, When in Rome… if you’re looking for a traditional taste of the Alps and wanting to sink your teeth into some local specialities, Hotel Carlina and La Matafan offer refined French dining.

Hotel Carlina has an air of elegance to its dishes, with a stunning open terrace that overlooks the pistes of Belle Plagne if you would like to visit as a lunch spot.

La Matafan is another authentic French restaurant in Belle Plagne, hosting its diners in a traditional yet classy chalet dining room with a cosy roaring fireplace. A particular standout dish amongst both the locals and holidaymakers is the raclette and another local classic, the French onion soup.

Feeling Fancy; Best for Evening Plans

Although Belle Plagne doesn't possess any Michelin star restaurants, two Guide Michelin recommended establishments can be found in the nearby Bourg-Saint-Maurice; La Montagnole and L'Arssiban.

La Montagnole serves up traditional cuisine that focuses on flavour, in a modern setting, without too much of an expensive price tag.

If fresh and flavoursome food is what you are looking for, L'Arssiban was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand for its authentic Savoyard cuisine, in a setting to match with its quaint wood and stone decor.

Food for Everybody; Best for All the Family

What's a cuisine that we all know and love? That's right, good ol' Italian. If you're looking for restaurants that will be a crowd-pleaser for even the fussiest of eaters, there is nothing more surefire than pizza and pasta.

La Godille's speciality dishes include pizzas, pasta, fondues, raclettes and they also deliver the goods for those with a sweet tooth, including crepes and ice cream. So whether you find yourself dining with a fussy eater, those who like their food simple yet delicious, or looking for something to please the kids, La Godille has the versatility to please!

The restaurant is open in both seasons, with a cosy log fireplace for the winter months, or if you are visiting your La Plagne property in the summer months, you will find a large sunny terrace that usually hosts a BBQ when the weather is particularly sunny!

Scenic Suppers; Best for Dining with a View

Skiing aside, the most amazing aspect of a trip to the French Alps are the incredible panoramas!

From snowy mountain tops to the breathtaking green trails and vibrant flowers in the summer, the French Alps scenery is the gift that keeps on giving, and you'll want to soak this up at every opportunity, including dinner times.

While most of the restaurants in Belle Plagne will have windows leading onto spectacular sights, one diner that benefits particularly well from the views is L'Auberge Des Balcons.

L'Auberge Des Balcons is a bistro-style gastronomy restaurant that is a favourite amongst skiers and hikers year-round, due to its taste explosions, views and comforting atmosphere.

The Savoy Chalet setting looks clear out onto the summits that it sits amongst, with a billiards board, cosy living-rooms vibes, subdued lighting and traditional wooden decor. It really is a classic backdrop to relax and fill your stomach after a long day on the slopes.
