The village of Megève, France, is known for its boutique ski resort in the southeast of the French Alps. While its ski resort might be what attracts the crowds each year, it is the splendour of Megeve Village that is the real star of the show.

Megève is one of the most well-known ski resorts and summer holiday destinations in Europe. It is a typical Haute-Savoie resort where history and cultural heritage mix together to form this traditional alpine village. 

When Does Megève Ski Resort Open?

The ski season in Megève starts in mid-December and runs right through to mid-April, starting again in Summer from mid-June until mid-September.

Endless list of Winter and Summer activities

Whether you’re into skiing, snowshoeing, sledding or taking a night walk through the trees, Megève has plenty of winter sports on offer during the season that everybody can enjoy. 

During the Summer season, you will find the lifts and cable cars operating, allowing you to access the domain to mountain bike, find a hiking trail, paraglide or cycle along backroads. 

Megève also features one of the largest sports and cultural centres in the French alps; Le Palais Sports Centre. It has incredible facilities, with indoor climbing facilities, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ice rink and gymnasium. It even features a cultural centre with a large selection of books and frequent exhibitions.

Megève has an exceptional après ski offering, with many bars and restaurants located in the village. You will find something for everyone, with Michelin star menus designed by famous chefs, public events held throughout both the summer and winter seasons and a special welcome party each Saturday during winter to welcome the new arrivals.

Getting to Megève

Nearest Airports

Megève is located an hour drive from Geneva Airport, and only two hours from Lyon and its airport Lyon Saint Exupery

Airport Transfers to Megève Ski Resort

There are many bus services that operate in the area, taking you direct from the airports to the village. You can view all available airport transfer services here.

You can also take a train to Sallanches, which is the nearest village to Megève with a train station. From there you can take a private taxi or the local shuttle bus service.

Megève’s Newest Residence, L’Altima

Our exciting new residence is located in the Les Vériaz neighbourhood of Megève, L’Altima is a high end residential development located only a few minutes from the village centre and slopes. 

The residence offers apartments from studio suites right through to 5 bedroom apartments and personalised chalets. A set of common areas will be available to residents, that will include an indoor / outdoor heated 120m² swimming pool, a spa with hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, massage rooms, a tapas bar with local specialities, a playroom and kids club. 

A private shuttle service will also be set up at the residence and available to all, running regular services to and from the centre and main ski lifts. Megève is an ideal place to spend holiday with family or friends!
